Annually, the Military Family Research Institute recognizes new research on
military and Veteran families through the Barbara Thompson Excellence in Research Award.
The primary goals of the award are to:
Bring awareness to research on military and Veteran families and the issues they face;
Celebrate research and advocate for evidence-informed policies and practices; and
Build and strengthen relationships between researchers and practitioners
