Biography

Dr. Catherine Walker O’Neal is a Co-Investigator of Military REACH and lead of the Military REACH research team. She is an Assistant Research Scientist faculty member of Human Development and Family Science at the University of Georgia, where her research focuses on the interplay of risk and resilience among military and rural families to inform evidence-based outreach efforts. In addition to Military REACH, she is the Principal Investigator of an ongoing grant to develop and implement an evaluation of the Air Force’s Personal Financial Readiness (PFR) program. Her past projects include leading evaluation planning efforts for Army’s Mobility, Deployment, and Stability Support Operations (MD&SSO) program and serving as a research specialist in collaboration with the Army’s Community, Youth, and School Services (CYSS). Dr. O’Neal publishes extensively in top-tier family science journals, such as Family Psychology, Family Process, and American Journal of Community Psychology.
