Biography

Dr. Erin Cooper is a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Military REACH team. She earned her PhD in Human Development and Family Science from Auburn University in 2023. In her work, Dr. Cooper combines trauma-informed and prevention science approaches to understand the impact of adversity and trauma on individuals and couples as well as related resiliency factors that can be leveraged to mitigate risk and promote post-traumatic growth. Dr. Cooper is clinically trained as a marriage and family therapist, is a Certified Family Life Educator, and has taught many community-based classes on healthy romantic relationships. She previously worked on state and federally funded evaluations of community-based family life education programs such as couple and youth relationship education, parenting and fatherhood programs, and youth programs to prevent child abuse and neglect.
