The Military REACH research team was asked to develop a contemporary review of research on how families are affected by the deployment cycle, with an emphasis on implications of the research to enhance family well-being. To accomplish this objective, this report defines and describes the stages of deployment and summarizes practical, evidence-based strategies, drawn from the research, that can assist military families, service providers, and military leaders enhance family well-being across the deployment cycle.
Research summaries convey terminology used by the scientists who authored the original research article; some terminology may not align with the federal government's mandated language for certain constructs.
