Abstract Created by REACH
This study examined mothers’ and fathers’ participation in a parenting program for postdeployment military families. The program included an in-person mindfulness component and additional mindfulness exercises were made available through an online component. National Guard/Reserve families (N = 207 total families; n=370 parents) participated in the program. Data were collected from the participants at baseline of a 14-session program and six-months after the program. Overall, mothers’ engagement in mindfulness exercises accounted for a small, but statistically significant, portion of the variation in post-program mindfulness (3%).
