7. Couple Adaptation to Traumatic Stress (CATS) Model
The couple adaptation to traumatic stress (CATS) model is used to analyze the impact of traumatic experiences on individuals and couple relationships. The CATS model assumes that trauma will induce primary traumatic stress symptoms in the traumatized partner, which can trigger secondary symptoms in the other partner, which can then intensify the traumatized partner's primary symptoms. Adaptation to this traumatic stress in the couple depends upon individual functioning, predisposing factors, and couple functioning.

8. Military sexual trauma
Military sexual trauma, or MST, is sexual assault or sexual harassment experienced during military service. MST includes any type of sexual activity against your will, including: Being pressured into sexual activities (for example, you were threatened with bad treatment for refusing sex or promised better treatment in exchange for sex); Sexual activities without your consent (for example, you were asleep or intoxicated); Being physically forced into sexual activities; Threatening, offensive remarks about your body or sexual activities; Threatening and unwanted sexual advances; Unwanted touching or grabbing, including during hazing.

9. Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
"TBI is a structural injury and/or physiological disruption of brain function caused by an external force. Symptoms associated with TBI include impairment of cognitive functioning (i.e., attention, concentration, reaction time, decision making) and a high risk for mental health issues."

11. Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a clinical disorder that involves the development and presentation of negative symptoms after exposure to a traumatic event. Clinical PTSD does not present identically across people, but symptoms are generally fear-based, emotional, behavioral, mood-based, or reactive to arousal.
